Microsoft announced today that it is bringing its favorite console game subscription service, Xbox Game Pass, to Windows.

This is larger than only an official recognition that a few of its comprised Xbox games at Game Pass may be performed on the PC. (Right now, any PC game that is a part of Game Pass may be played on either Xbox or Windows, as a result of the organization’s Play Anywhere initiative, however the vast majority of these names are Microsoft-published games such as Forza Horizon 4 and Gears of War 4.)

Rather, Microsoft says it is launching a completely different variant of the subscription for Windows computers with over 100 matches from over 75 programmers to begin. At this time, fewer than 20 of the games accessible through Xbox Game Pass may be performed on PC, which means Microsoft has signed up dozens of developers to bring names to the brand new variant of the service.

“Two years ago, we launched Xbox Game Pass on Xbox One, and since then we’ve seen how valuable a curated library of high-quality games can be for players and game developers alike,”  writes Xbox main Phil Spencer at a blog article printed this morning.“We researched whether a similar opportunity exists for PC players and PC game developers, and we believe that it does. We also considered the importance of bringing something new and additive to the PC gaming ecosystem, and we believe that we can. So, we designed a service specifically for the needs of PC gamers and PC game developers. It’s called Xbox Game Pass, just like the original, but it’s a new experience that we are building together with the PC community.”

We do not know which games will be made available, how much the subscription will price in relation to $9.99 a month that Xbox owners now pay, or whenever the service will go live. Microsoft says it is likely to announce more about this PC-specific variant of Game Pass in E3 first next month. However, the company did confirm that it’s developers such as Sega, Metro Exodus founder Deep Silver, Fallout and Elder Scrolls studio Bethesda, Stellarisfounder Paradox Interactive, and venerated Cartoon publisher Devolver Digital online board.

Subscribers will also receive exactly the very same advantages through the Microsoft Store that present Xbox Game Pass members undergo Xbox Live. Including being able to play with any new internally developed Microsoft match for free with Game Pass over the day it is published. Clients will also get exactly the exact same 20 percent off the purchase price of games within the library if the case that you’d like to obtain the name to play forever in the event that you opt not to continue using the subscription.
