The Japanese-based development company Pocket Pair recently launched its Online Action Adventure / Open World Survival Craft game Palworld in high hopes that it would generate enough revenue to cover all expenses. What the development company did not anticipate was that Palworld would become as massive as it did. With millions sold by the end of the weekend, Pocket Pair could enjoy a well-executed job.
Palworld Outperforms Pokémon in Every Way
Palworld has already sold over 5 million copies since its launch, and in just 3 days, the game has climbed to the top 3 list of the world’s most played games on Steamcharts.com. This alone attests to the quality of the game and how quickly word of mouth spreads when it gains enough momentum.

It’s worth noting that a massive marketing budget or a spectacular launch plan is not necessarily required. All that is needed is a good idea and proper execution. This phenomenon has been evident in cases like Valheim, and it is repeating itself now with Palworld.
We have already spent around 8 hours with Palworld, and it took about 10 minutes for both of us trying it together to become completely hooked. We share the same sentiment as many others have expressed: This is a fusion of everything Pokémon couldn’t achieve, combined with elements from ARK: Survival Evolved, Monster Hunter, and Genshin Impact. Although Palworld borrows from different games and genres, it is unique and original in its own way.

What truly sets Palworld apart from other games in the Pokémon universe is the ability to have a dynamic relationship with your Pals through combat. This is the most impressive aspect of the game. We loved how our character could actively influence the battle, but perhaps there is a slight lack of more direct impact on when your Pal attacks or retreats. Nevertheless, Palworld’s combat system is something we have missed greatly in Pokémon.

Palworld also impresses with the way you can manage and build up your base. Although not as complex as in ARK Survival Evolved, but we guess that Pocket Pair has managed to attract over half of the players with this feature alone. Add to that a world full of monsters to capture, a dynamic and enjoyable combat system, and a large and beautiful world teeming with exploration opportunities and collectibles, and you have the perfect game for those who were captivated by the games we mentioned above.
Our simple review of Palworld can be summed up with the following: If you enjoyed ARK, Monster Hunter, and Pokémon, Palworld is definitely for you. If you’re not hooked within 1 hour and 59 minutes, feel free to refund the game – it doesn’t get better than that.
