Pantheon Rise of the Fallen has been in development since before 2014. Visionary Realms initiated a Kickstarter campaign on January 13, 2014, but failed to reach its goal. Following the unsuccessful campaign, the new game studio created its own website to organize its own crowdfunding efforts.
Since then, the company has raised approximately $5.34 million to develop the new MMORPG game. Pantheon Rise of the Fallen draws much inspiration from the world-renowned game EverQuest from 1999 and, at one point, had one of EverQuest’s most influential creators on its team, Brad McQuaid.
Pantheon Rise of the Fallen Gets Beta Seasons
Pantheon Rise of the Fallen has now, after what feels like a hundred years, finally entered some kind of beta phase. You still need to have a high pledge status if you want any time in Terminus, but now the wait is over for most, and it’s possible to access longer specified periods if desired by upgrading your pledge level.

The ambitious PC MMORPG game is still a good way from launch. As known, the game has undergone major changes in terms of graphics. In what seems to be a sensible decision, Visionary Realms has opted for a more playful graphic style, similar to that of World of Warcraft, instead of their original choice. Naturally, this has stirred controversy, but it may prove to be a good choice for the company in the end.
From February 17 to March 29, you can access the first season of Pantheon Rise of the Fallen, called Avenyr’s Pass. In the Into the Pass season, players can continue from Thronefast, where the journey concluded at preseason. Visionary Realms introduces new NPCs, new weapons and armors that can be forged, and the new pet system for the Shaman class. Some of the areas worth noting include Demith Village, The Roughs of Gadai, Trapper caves, and several new ruins where the wandering dead reside.
The second season in Pantheon Rise of the Fallen is scheduled to start on March 30. Here, players will have the opportunity to explore The Mouth of Madness. What awaits here is held close to the chest by Visionary Realms, but those who have supported the project with over $750 will have access to a whole month of goodies to look forward to.

As known, the company has introduced a tier system for their supporters, ranging from $50 up to $10,000, where each level provides additional benefits from the developers. More information about this can be found at the bottom of the post, taken from their website.
The Loss of Brad McQuaid
McQuaid was a co-founder of Verant Interactive, which later became known as Sony Online Entertainment (SOE), and was one of the most central figures in creating EverQuest, one of the most influential MMORPG games of all time. EverQuest was launched in 1999 and had a huge impact on the gaming industry, helping to define the MMORPG genre as we know it today.
After leaving SOE and EverQuest, McQuaid founded a new company, Visionary Realms, and began working on his next big project, Pantheon Rise of the Fallen. He was possibly the most important driving force behind the development of Pantheon, aiming to recreate the same feeling of exploration, cooperation, and adventure that made EverQuest so popular back in the 90s.

Unfortunately, McQuaid passed away in November 2019, and Visionary Realms lost their friend, founder, and an important player in the industry. His legacy and influence in the gaming industry live on through the games he helped create, and through the developers and players who were inspired by his work.
