Counter Strike 2 is the direct successor to the ultra-popular CS:GO game, which in turn originated from the original Counter Strike, Counter Strike 1.6, and Counter Strike: Source. Now, the heir is finally here and ready to take over the throne from CS:GO.
Launched in September 2023 by the world-renowned game developer Valve, Counter Strike 2 is only available on Windows and Linux. In the game, there are two teams playing against each other, and your task is simple – use your wit and tactical skills to defeat the other team.
11 Confirmed Counter Strike 2 Teams for IEM China
ESL has finally been able to reveal the 11 invited Counter Strike 2 teams that will be present at IEM in China this year. The event takes place between April 8th and 14th. The total prize pool is $250,000, along with a whole series of BLAST Premier points. The winners will be directly qualified for IEM in Cologne/Germany 2024.
The list is still open for five teams, but these will be distributed to the winners of the regional tournaments. The matches will be held early next month. According to ESL and other esports websites, it is reported that BIG, Bet Boom Team, Team Falcons, and Eternal Fire will compete for the European spots.

The list mostly consists of familiar faces, and in Intel Extreme Masters, anything can happen. Speculating on who will take home the main prize is almost at random, but the matches involving our personal favorites are high on the list. FaZe Clan, G2 Esports, and Cloud9 promise to be more than exciting matches for us.
The Counter Strike team “Mouz” has previously brought in CS veteran Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin from Ninjas in Pyjamas. The deal is not a complete purchase but only a loan for an unknown period. This means that Brollan will still be wearing the NIP jersey in the foreseeable future.
